Consumer sentiment soared by 4.7 percent to 95.5 in an early February survey. These gains reflect the end of the partial government shutdown, as well as a more fundamental shift in consumer expectations due to the Fed’s pause in raising interest rates.



Gallup: Optimism about personal finances climbs to highest levels in more than 16 years

Americans’ optimism about their personal finances has climbed to levels not seen in more than 16 years, with 69 percent saying they expect to be financially better off “at this time next year.”
