According to a report by Pro Tool Reviews, Atlanta secured the 10th position among U.S. cities for home-renovation expenditure.
According to Atlanta Agent, the tool-review site analyzed home-renovation spending across the U.S. and determined that Atlantans spent $12.9 billion on home improvements over the last two years, just behind San Franciscans, with $13 billion. New York, Los Angeles and Dallas took the top three spots for renovation spending, with $37.6 billion, $20.2 billion and $15.4 billion, respectively.
Across the country, remodelers spent more than $641 billion on home renovations in the past two years, with the most common projects relating to water heaters/dishwashers/garbage disposals, HVAC, flooring, plumbing and windows and doors. In terms of cost recovery, refinishing hardwood floors provided the greatest return among improvement projects, at 147%, followed by installing new wood flooring, at 118%.Meanwhile, Georgia is the most renovation-curious among the 50 states based on internet searches, with 4,668 Google searches per 100,000 residents, followed by Colorado (4,623) and Nebraska (4,576).
