Dewalt Debuts Two Cordless Tools That Used to Be Impossible

Today, Dewalt introduced the Flexvolt, its new 60V battery platform, as well as a plethora of new brushless tools that will use this power source, including a 12-inch miter saw and jobsite table saw. Fresh off the Milwaukee Tool event where that company introduced a high-demand 18V 9.0 Ah battery and an impressive 10-inch cordless miter saw, we were keen to see how Dewalt’s response. Miter saws and table saws are the heart and soul of jobsites around the world; remodeling contractors everywhere use them every day. Before today they were always tethered to the wall and required 120V AC power—the kinds of batteries that powered cordless drills and reciprocating saws just didn’t have enough juice for the big boys. Well, not anymore.
