Historic McSwain home gets new look

The Bonita Springs Historical Society has completed another phase of renovation on the historic McSwain Home, located at 27451 Old 41 Road, restoring the home’s former curb appeal. “With the city roadwork in front of the McSwain Home completed, we have been able to implement part of the design plan that will help make the home a showpiece of adaptive restoration,” said BSHS President Charlie Strader. Two grants have aided the society’s recent efforts: A façade grant from the city of Bonita Springs and a grant from the Gannett Foundation. Additionally, several local businesses have donated services. The Historical Society is particularly indebted to Wright Construction Group, the Fort Myers-based contractor who is in charge of the downtown infrastructure project for the city of Bonita Springs. WCG has a long history of community involvement and generously agreed to supervise the BSHS front design project.
