Lennar buys 33 acres of Miami-Dade corn fields to build homes

Lennar Corp. is preparing to mow down the corn fields just southwest of Zoo Miami and build estate homes after a recent deal. Quail Roost Realty Management, managed by Judith M. King in Denver, sold the 32.7 acres of farmland at 18870 S.W. 134th Ave. for $4.5 million to Quail Roost Lennar LLC, an affiliate of Miami-based Lennar (NYSE: LEN). The price equated to $137,615 an acre.
