Middletown approves annexation of 94-acres for new development

After an hour of heated back-and-forth with a crowd of about 15 residents, the Middletown burgess and commissioners on Monday night approved an annexation agreement that will bring 94 acres into the town limits and allow a developer to construct up to 148 “active adult” homes. The agreement, which had been in talks since 2004, will allow developer Farhad Memarsadeghi to construct the homes on a plot of former farmland off Coblentz Road beginning in 2023. The agreement was approved by the burgess and commissioners, 4 to 2.
