Home builders in the Triangle are ramping up production in 2016 quicker than they had in 2015 with the number of new residential building permits submitted in the first quarter up 17 percent year-over-year.
Raleigh new residential building permits were up 23 percent with a total 344 new permits issued in January, February and March. Cary new home permits were up 11 percent with 233 permits issued. Durham County permits for new single family homes were up 36 percent in the first quarter with 448 building permits issued, according to research firm The Market Edge.
