U.S. rates hold form

U.S. mortgage rates were essentially unchanged this week, according to Freddie Mac. The 30-year fixed mortgage averaged 4.42 percent for the week ending April 12, up slightly from 4.4 percent the previous week. A year ago, mortgage rates stood at 4.08 percent. Low mortgage rates have helped drive U.S. home sales, along with the refinance market.
